Southern Fried Catfish

Total Time: 18 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 8 (5 ounce) catfish fillets, skin removed
  • salt
  • old bay seasoning
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • oil, for frying

Recipe

  • 1 heat a fryer or a deep pot halfway filled with oil to 350 degrees f.
  • 2 sprinkle both sides of each catfish with salt and old bay seasoning.
  • 3 in a separate bowl, combine the flour and the cornmeal.
  • 4 dredge the catfish in the flour mixture and place in fryer.
  • 5 deep fry for approximately 7 to 8 minutes until done.
  • 6 drain on paper towels.
