Crustless, Broccoli, Tuna Quiche

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 (900 g) packet frozen broccoli
  • 6 tablespoons butter or 6 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup grated yellow cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 can tuna, drained and flaked (either oil in water - whatever one prefers)

Recipe

  • 1 cook broccoli in slightly salted water until tender.
  • 2 rinse under cold water and drain well.
  • 3 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • 4 melt butter in a medium size pot.
  • 5 add flour stirring until combined.
  • 6 slowly add milk and continue stirring until sauce has thickened.
  • 7 at this point, add salt, cheese, lemon juice and mix until well combined.
  • 8 remove pot from heat and add broccoli and tuna.
  • 9 mix well, pour into a pyrex or glass baking dish.
  • 10 bake covered for 35 minutes.
  • 11 remove cover and continue baking for a further 10-20 minutes until nice and bubbly.
