Nb Clam Chowder

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4-1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup diced raw potato
  • 20 ounces chopped canned clams, with the juice
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons chopped parsley

Recipe

  • 1 in a soup pot, melt butter. saute onion and celery until soft, but not brown.
  • 2 add hot water, and diced potato. bring just to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 12 minutes or until potato is tender.
  • 3 add clams and juice, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and parsley.
  • 4 simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes.
