Scalloped Oysters

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 cups cracker crumbs
  • 2 (12 ounce) containers fresh standard oysters, drained
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/8 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

Recipe

  • 1 sprinkle ½ cup cracker crumbs in a lightly greased 8-inch square baking dish.
  • 2 cover with half the oysters; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • 3 dot with half the butter and cover with half the remaining cracker crumbs.
  • 4 repeat layers with remaining oysters, salt, pepper, butter, and cracker crumbs.
  • 5 combine the half-and-half, eggs, and worcestershire sauce in a bowl; beat well.
  • 6 pour around the oysters; bake in a preheated 350° oven for 40 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
