Grandma Anne's Codfish Sauce

Total Time: 30 hrs Preparation Time: 24 hrs Cook Time: 6 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 (1 lb) box dried codfish
  • 1 (12 ounce) can canned milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • salt
  • pepper

Recipe

  • 1 soak cod overnight; drain.
  • 2 boil in fresh water; drain; do this 4 times.
  • 3 after last drain, chop up fish, add water and cook until fish is tender.
  • 4 blend flour in canned milk.
  • 5 add to fish and cook until thickened.
  • 6 add butter and salt and pepper to taste.
