Sea Bean Chowder

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 3 cups dried beans or 3 cups canned beans
- 2 cups onions, chopped
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 (32 ounce) container clamato juice
- 1 cup wine or 1 cup sherry wine
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon thyme
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped or 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 1/4 cup fennel, chopped or 1/2 teaspoon crushed fennel seed
- salt & pepper
- 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa, chunky style
- 1 (10 ounce) jar baby clams, whole
- 1 lb shrimp, briefly cooked and shelled
Recipe
- 1 cook dried beans.
- 2 saute onion in oil.
- 3 add clamato juice, wine and all seasonings.
- 4 simmer simmer for a long time.
- 5 add beans.
- 6 15 minutes before serving add shrim and undrained clams.
