Pasta With Cilantro, Peas, And Smoked Salmon

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 3 large garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded
  • 3 cups chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • 12 ounces bow tie pasta
  • 10 ounces frozen tiny peas or 1 1/2 lbs fresh peas, shelled
  • 1/4 lb smoked salmon, sliced and cut into strips
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • salt
  • pepper
  • chives

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite.
  • 2 meanwhile, in food processor or blender blend garlic, jalapenos, and cilantro.
  • 3 add whipping cream and blend until thick.
  • 4 add lime juice and season with salt and pepper.
  • 5 when pasta is firm, add peas and cook for 2 minutes (do not cook if using frozen).
  • 6 drain pasta and peas and return to same pot.
  • 7 mix in sauce and thawed frozen peas.
  • 8 add salmon and chives.
